The Traffic-Calming Device That Could Mess Up Your Car

Speeding is a major problem in many parts of the world, and it often had deadly consequences. As a result, various different techniques, strategies, and technologies have been employed in order to help reduce speeds and the number of speeding vehicles. But let’s be honest, speeders gonna speed.
Actibump could make speeders cry. The Actibump by Edeva, a ‘hidden’ anti-speeding device that has already been installed in several cities and areas of northern Europe. Originating in Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Poland and more have already paid to have the bumps installed.

When we say bumps, we really mean pits. Radar records the speed of incoming vehicles and if they are over the speed limit, the Actibump lowers into the road and will give the speeding car a rude awakening (and a broken suspension, we imagine). If a vehicle respects the speed limit, nothing will happen.

Check out the video below to see it in action.

It certainly seems like a good idea in theory; drive the speed limit and nothing bad will happen to you or your car. What are your thoughts on this system? Let us know in the comments.
